About me

My grandmother was a coal-miner's daughter, the first of thirteen, and of necessity learned to cook for the family at an early age. I was ten years old when she taught me. Smoky mushrooms paprikash, hearty chicken kiev ... Now, three decades later, so much has changed, but the kitchen remains a place of warmth and comfort, with recipes from the Old World and the New, hers and mine, a place where everyone feels welcome.
