About me

Since I can remember, I was always mommy's little helper in the kitchen. My friends always say I am indefinitely, my mother's daughter. Growing up, I was fortunate enough to have my mother at home everyday. The first thing I saw when I got home from school was her in the kitchen prepping dinner. Even for family holiday gatherings she would wake up at the crack of dawn to get everything started so everything would be ready for all the aunts, uncles, cousin, grandparents. Cooking is truly a labor of love and I learned that by watching my mother and now by experiencing it firsthand! I remember wanting to attend culinary school but that was absolutely out of the question for 2 Korean parents who only wanted their daughter to be a doctor, lawyer, etc. etc. Though successful in my current career, I know my parents see my passion for cooking and they sometimes wonder what could have been if I had gone that route. I am definitely the go-to person for anything related to food... at work and amongst friends. I love to cook it and I LOVE to eat it! I cater most events for friends and family and love doing it thought I curse myself during the process sometimes. I just love the challenge of waking up people's palettes and love seeing someone take their first bite of a new creation. I come from a Korean background so I do love to make Korean food because that is what I learned from my mother and I always think her food is the best! I would love to share authentic dishes with new people and also introduce them to new creations that were magically born in this sometimes useful brain of mine! I am in no means a culinary genius (though I have my moments) and I am definitely not gourmet (though I think presentation and quality ingredients are key) but I am a true lover of cooking and food.
